   Loop Fishing Expo

“Check out this live event happening here at Collingwood Motor Camp”

February 10th -12th 2017

You have seen the pictures and heard the stories of Ray-riding Kingfish on the flats at the top of the South Island……..Loop Tackle, Strip Strike SWF Club and The Complete Angler would love you to join us in Collingwood in February next year for a weekend of saltwater fly fishing, fly-tying, casting instruction and fun (and no doubt a few ales). We are assembling a talented team to help you learn the techniques of fishing these flats, improve your casting and advice on how you can help to protect this fishery. Click ‘Interested’ to make sure you dont miss any updates, and use the ‘Invite’ functionality to let your mates know too.

The event will follow our successful Salt Fly Hook Up format. You can check out some videos of our event in Tauranga on these links.

Who should come?
You should definitely come. Whether you are an experienced saltwater fly fisherman, or have never fly fished in the salt before you will get something out of this weekend. Bring your friends and bring your family (it is a beautiful spot even if they are not into fishing).

What will happen?
It is a relatively informal event, you can choose to fish every minute of the weekend or you can take advantage of;
– Certified Casting Instructors running casting clinics.
– Fly Tying sessions.
– Advice on how to fish the flats and directions given on spots you can try.
– Fun, social times including an informal fishing competition and casting challenges.
– We will have a range of Loop rods that you can demo.

Some Details
We will make sure this event is low-cost to attend.

Accomodation – if you need accomodation there are ensuite cabins, Standard and Deluxe Backpacker cabins,  and powered and un-powered sites for your camper or tent available for you to choose from and book directly – don’t leave it too late if you want a choice! Check out the options and book at

Food & Drink – to keep the cost down the event is self-catering. The camp has cooking facilities and BBQs available, there is a 4 Square in town for supplies. There are cafes, takeaway and restaurant options in the vicinity also.

Registration Fee – There will be a small registration fee, this helps us be sure of numbers and contributes towards (but does not cover) our costs of running the event – and for this you will get an awesome t-shirt to make everyone else jealous – the fee and booking link will be confirmed later in the year.

We want to make this a fun and inclusive event, so if you think you can help in some way please drop us a line. Prizes for the various competitions will be gratefully accepted and fully acknowledged.
